Communication/Phone Call Policy
Most questions or concerns are best dealt with by Consultation with the Doctor. Test results will not be given out over the telephone by support staff as information may be misunderstood or misconstrued and is, therefore, best discussed with your doctor. In an emergency the doctor will speak with you immediately. Repeat prescriptions generally require a medical review to ensure the continued accuracy of dose and effectiveness.
Recall and Reminder calls
Clinton Medical Centre have a Recall system. Doctors will check their patients’ results every day and will action each result. If required your Doctor will ask reception staff to call you and make a follow-up appointment.
If you are concerned or need to have your results conveyed to you, a consultation appointment for your results is required to ensure that the result is properly explained.
We currently do not offer SMS or Email as a point of contact for results.
Clinton Medical Centre also has a reminder system regarding appointments for Cervical Smears, Immunisations, Care Plans, Mental Health Plans, Skin Checks and other procedures. We routinely ensure all necessary reminders are made in a timely manner. We also participate in the Cervical Screening Register, Mammogram and Immunisation Register.
Specialist referrals
Require a doctor’s appointment. Patient initiated referrals or backdated referrals without prior consultation with the doctor will not be issued.
